Battlestar Galactica Is The Show

(SPOILER ALERT). Right now, this is hands down my show of choice and probably my favorite show of all time. It’s ending after its 4th season, which is winding down this Spring. It was great from the start, but it took a long time to warm up to “best show” for me. What I love about it is whenever you consider any character, you know exactly who they are, even between the Cylon clones.

There have been several epic moments during the series, but the two that top the list have been accompanied by iterations of the song “All Along the Watchtower”. At the very end of Season 3, this song activated the final five Cylons and was the backdrop of Kara Thrace’s return from earth. In the most recent episode that aired on Friday, a new instrumental lead-in version of this song seasoned the revealing of more clues as to who / what Kara actually is and the overall Cylon plans, shown in the embedded video. Unfortunately, this version of the song is unattainable right now. The version at the end of Season 3 is available on the Season 3 soundtrack. The composer had this to say about this most recent episode’s version:

“That’s the song,” Tory says, in shock. But, the remarkable thing is that’s not. As I mentioned earlier, there was no instrumental melody in Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” that would work for this episode’s needs. As a result, the music they’re hearing is in fact, my music: The Final Four Theme.http://www.bearmccreary.com/blog/?p=1598

I’m very much looking forward to the Season 4 soundtrack of this epic TV series.

I loved this episode SO HARD. I can’t even explain it all without going into essay mode. lol

If you want, I can send you a copy of Philip Glass – Solo Piano (Metamorphosis One was used in this episode). The man rocked my 17 year old soul.

Yeah, I basically just said the whole show was awesome and avoided “essay-mode” to describe this specific episode. :)
